South Australia has officially opened its state-nominated skilled migration program for 2024-2025, offering a range of opportunities for skilled migrants to live and work in one of Australia’s most dynamic states. The program invites skilled professionals from around the world to apply for state nomination under various streams tailored to meet the diverse needs of South Australia’s economy.
Overview of the Program
The 2024-2025 General Skilled Migration (GSM) program provides several pathways for both onshore and offshore skilled migrants. The key streams within this program include the Skilled Employment in South Australia stream, the South Australian Graduates stream, and the Outer Regional Skilled Employment stream. Offshore Stream
Prospective migrants residing offshore who possess skills in high demand in South Australia are also encouraged to apply. South Australia has opened 427 occupations for experienced overseas workers through this stream. Offshore invitation rounds are anticipated to occur regularly throughout the program year, beginning with the program opening and continuing at the end of each month from September 2024. Interested applicants should ensure their Expression of Interest (EOI) is up to date and that South Australia is selected as their primary state of interest.
Business Innovation and Investment Program
At this time, South Australia is not accepting applications for state nomination for the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188). However, business or investor migrants who already hold a provisional visa (subclass 188) can still apply for nomination for the extension stream or a permanent visa (subclass 888) if they meet the requirements.
Employer Sponsored Programs
South Australia remains committed to supporting local employers who face challenges in filling vacancies from the local labour market. Various employer-sponsored programs are available to assist these businesses, providing pathways for skilled migrants to fill these roles.
Application Fees
The application fees for South Australian nomination in 2024-25 are available on the official Application Fees page. Please note that submitting a Registration of Interest will not incur a fee.
Conclusion
South Australia’s 2024-2025 General Skilled Migration Program offers numerous opportunities for skilled migrants, whether already residing in the state or considering a move from overseas. With multiple streams catering to different circumstances, this program aims to attract and retain talent that will contribute to South Australia’s vibrant economy and communities.
